Free First-time Homebuyer Education Class to be Offered in Brainerd

If you are a first-time homebuyer looking to buy a new home this spring or summer then you may want to consider attending the free first-time homebuyer workshop on May 14th by Home Stretch.  This class will take you through the whole home buying process.

Throughout the day you will learn:

  • Budget &  Credit
  • Mortgage approval process
  • Real estate & shopping for a home
  • The closing process
  • Basic home maintenance
  • Foreclosure prevention and tips for successful homeownership

There are many affordable mortgage programs, government programs, and down payment and closing cost assistance programs that may require the home buyer to have a Home Stretch certificate that can be received at the end of the one day workshop.

If you are unable to attend the workshop May 14th at the Brainerd Savings and Loan, then an online course that is offered may be for you. A new online tool known as Framework will also help prepare you for successful homeownership.  There are many lenders in Crow Wing County that have approved Framework to meet homebuyer education requirements. The online program can be found at http://www.cmhp.net/.

To attend the workshop registration is required. To register for the Framework course or the Home Stretch workshop you can contact Trista at 320-258-0861 or visit the website here for more information.
